Tamrind Chutney


Ingredients:


Tamrind
garam masala
salt
turmeric
brown sugar/ jaggery
corn starch (optional)


Method:


Cook tamrind with enough water on the stove or microwave till soft. Add enough water to extract the thick tamrind juice and filter it. To that juice add salt,turmeric,garam masala and brown sugar or jaggery. Cook till it becomes thick paste. If the chutney is too watery add 2 spoons of corn starch in two spoons of water and mix it well. Add this corn starch to the tamrind chutney and cook in a medium flame till it comes to the desired consistency.
