Yummy Yummy Kale Chutney / Spread



Ingredients:

Kale - washed, finely chopped with middle stem removed - 6 to 8 handfuls

Tamarind  - small lemon size
Green chillies - 5 to 6
Red chillies - 8 to 9
Garlic - 3
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Zeera - 1/2 tsp
Uradh dhal - 1 tsp
Chana dhal - 1 tsp
Dhania - 1 tsp
Oil
Salt to taste
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
water

Seasoning :


Oil - 2 to 3 Tablespoons

Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Uradh dhal - 1 tsp
garlic pods 3 to 4 cut into thin strips
Hing pinch
Red chillies - 4 broken half
Curry leaves - 1 stalk
Coriander finely chopped

Method:


Put a nonstick pan on the stove. On medium heat fry mustard seeds, after spluttering add zeera, uradh dhal, chana dhal, dhania, green chillies, garlic and red chillies. After they are done cooking add chopped kale, turmeric, salt and tamarind. Let it cook till kale is cooked. Let it cool and grind it into smooth paste adding water.


Take seasoning pan and on medium heat add oil and when oil is hot add mustard seeds when spluttering add uradh dhal and after it is cooked light brown add garlic pods, curry leaves and red chillies. After they cooked well add hing. Add this to the grind chutney and garnish with coriander. Enjoy it with hot rice, dosa and also can be used as a spread on rotis,burgers and bread.
